Launchpad is a guided 10-week creative experience designed to help you develop your illustration skills, make a body of new work and build the confidence and momentum to keep going.

Through weekly creative briefs, live teaching, guest illustrator sessions, critique and personal feedback, you’ll explore new ways of working — and put them into practice straight away.

No experience required. No pressure to already have a style.

Just a place to start—with the structure and support to keep making in as little as 3–4 hours per week.

And if you can’t make it live, all sessions are recorded.

Maybe you want to make more illustration work, but you keep getting stuck. You’re not sure what to draw. You jump between ideas. You compare your work to other illustrators. Or you keep telling yourself you’ll make time for personal work — but somehow it never happens.

Launchpad gives you a reason to start, something to work on every week and a group of other creatives making alongside you.

Over 10 weeks, you’ll build a growing body of sketches, studies, experiments and finished pieces while exploring drawing, colour, composition, character, storytelling, environments, texture and visual voice.

Watching tutorials and saving other people's work can only take you so far. At some point, you have to make.

That’s why Launchpad isn't designed as 10 weeks of content to consume. It’s 10 weeks of making.

Each stage gives you something new to explore and put into practice, with weekly teaching, creative briefs, professional guest illustrators, live critique, personal written feedback and a creative community working alongside you.

You'll experiment without the pressure to get everything right. You'll discover ideas through making rather than waiting for inspiration to arrive.

And week by week, those experiments will begin to add up.

I’m Lisa Hassell, founder of Inkygoodness, and I’ve spent the last 15+ years working with illustrators and creatives — helping them develop their work, build confidence and move their creative practice forward.

I created Launchpad because I see the same thing again and again: talented creatives getting stuck because they don’t know what to focus on next.

Throughout the 10 weeks, I’ll be there to guide you — with weekly lessons, creative prompts, live critique and feedback to help you keep making and keep moving forward.

WEEKS 1–2

Build Your Foundations
Strengthen your observation and drawing skills through experimentation with line, shape, materials and mark-making with curiosity and a more playful approach to making.

WEEKS 3–4

Explore Colour & Composition
Experiment with bold colour and shape, then learn how composition and visual storytelling can bring greater impact, energy and intention to your illustrations.

WEEKS 5–6

Create Characters & Illustrated Worlds
Learn the fundamentals of character design and bringing personality into your work, then experiment with environments, atmosphere and world-building to broaden your visual storytelling skills.

WEEKS 7–8

Turn Ideas Into Visual Stories
Draw inspiration from everyday observations, interests and experiences, learning how to shape initial ideas into compelling concepts and more resolved illustrations.

WEEKS 9–10

Strengthen Your Visual Voice
Bring everything together in a final illustration project, recognise the creative choices that make your work distinctive and gain feedback to help you move your practice forward.
